Why 80% of Pharmacists are Considering an Alternative Career Path
Burnout is not a new topic when it comes to healthcare. While burnout existed before the COVID-19 pandemic, the additional burden placed on healthcare workers has only worsened burnout across the industry and pharmacists are no different. In this video podcast episode, I am reviewing a recent Pharmacy Times article called “Pharmacists Report High Levels of Burnout, Resulting in Understaffing and Alternative Career Paths”. The content of this article is based on the results of the 2023 Pharmacy Times Burnout and Mental Health Survey.
I will be reviewing the results from the following survey questions:
On a scale of 1 to 7, what is your level of burnout now vs. before the COVID-19 pandemic?
Do you think burnout has contributed to understaffing?
Does your job allow for work-life balance?
Is your company trying to improve burnout in the workplace? If so, have those interventions been effective?
And more!
